This Wednesday’s Wonder: Robot from Laputa: Castle in the Sky at the Ghibli Musuem.
A long time ago, my husband introduced me to a little guy called Totoro. I’m pretty sure after watching that movie, everyone wanted a little Totoro they could carry around like a designer dog. Totoro then led to the wonderful world of Ponyo and I fell head over heels for the adorable characters and endearing story lines.
Frank had grown up on Miyazaki’s cartoons and it had been a dream for him to visit Ghibli Museum ever since it opened. The whole museum is dedicated to every single one of Miyazaki’s creations, including the robot from Laputa: Castle in the Sky. He’s a hulking hunk of metal and probably one of the most favorite characters in the museum. We had to wait in line to get his photo.
And you know what, he is a neat guy.
