This Wednesday’s Wonder: The Swiss Alps are all blue.
On day one in the Alps, there was a blizzard. Large flakes of snow fell down until they collected on our hoods and in the nooks of our jackets. I lost my glove in the heaps of snow and it most likely won’t be unearthed until mid-May.
The second day was pretty much the same. We waited for the sun. It did not make a single peak out the clouds.
It finally came on the third day and the entire Swiss mountains were casted in blue. In Lauterbrunnen, the waterfall, while a modest spritz now, casted a tiny spray over the valley and it was quite majestic. As we took the train up to Wengen, the entire car saw this view–and in that instant, what was just myself in my seat suddenly became about 20 people spilling over to get this view. I guess it can’t be helped, you only get something like this in of a dream.
So blue!
