There is quite literally nothing worse than getting sick when traveling. It’s a lot different than getting sick at home. At least at home, there’s your pillow, your comforter and your handy little teddy bear. When my husband gets sick at home, he gets the “man sickness:” when a mild 99 degree fever becomes a perceived whopping 105 degree; or when a tiny sinus leak becomes the Niagara Falls of runny noses. When my husband gets sick when traveling, he powers through it like a boss. I, however, become the opposite. There is nothing in the world–no foreign language medicines that I can’t read, no hot (hopefully chicken) soup–that can make me get up and moving when I’m sick.
Case in point: Kamakura, Japan.
My husband had to take this adventure without me. I practically lost my large intestine from being so sick that day. So, without further ado, here’s Kamakura through my husband’s camera.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine The Great Buddha (Daibutsu). Coastline of Kamakura. Along the walking trail. Our Favorite Little Monks. Not for Sale. The Town of Kamakura. Chain of God Figurines. Shine Entrance. Monk crossing. Zen Garden. Walking to the Great Buddha in town. Kenchoji Temple. Miracle around March – April. The Rice Cracker Man. Soy flavored rice cracker. Sweet Mochi Dessert. Salty & Savory Soy Paste Mochi.
There you have it, Kamakura, through a lens. What do you think of the three tiny monks?
