The first time one of my friends went to Hawaii, I was about 7 years old. I had very little concept of Hawaii, except that it was in the Pacific Ocean and that the Hawaiian alphabet has 16 letters (thank you, to my second grade teacher, Ms. Williams, who taught us Hawaiian). I was mildly jealous. Then my cousin and her family went some years later. She came back with the most beautiful photos of Maui. I was even more jealous. Some time later, my younger cousin and her family got a timeshare in Hawaii. They got to go every summer. Ensue even more jealousy.
Finally, it was my turn. And after everyone and their mom had already been to Hawaii, my dad scheduled a family vacation on the big island. The very next year, my husband and I visited Oahu. Next year, we have another family vacation in Maui. Turns out the universe heard my cries of envy and rewarded it with an abundance of trips to Hawaii. So, kids, being unreasonably jealous really does pay off and I highly recommend it.
Now we have our own set of memories and gorgeous photos for people to fawn over. So, without further ado, here’s a photo journey of pretty places in Oahu. There was very little–if any–photoshopping done to these photos because, honestly, Oahu doesn’t need it.
